The 111th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in white-marbled Ashgabat. The forum was attended by delegations of the CIS member states, the leadership of the CIS Executive Committee, as well as representatives of leading sector-specific agencies and international experts. Hosting such a major forum in the capital of Turkmenistan once again underscored the country's commitment to the principles of positive neutrality and the active development of constructive interstate dialogue.

The agenda of the meeting covered a wide range of issues regarding multilateral trade, economic, scientific, technical, and humanitarian cooperation. The participants reviewed the progress made in implementing previously adopted agreements and outlined prospective vectors of cooperation for the upcoming period.

The participants discussed measures to eliminate barriers to mutual trade, expand industrial cooperation, and enhance the competitiveness of national economies. Special attention was paid to the modernization of international transport and logistics infrastructure. Turkmenistan's strategic role as a vital crossroads of transport corridors at the intersection of the North–South and East–West routes was highlighted. The parties considered joint initiatives in the digital transformation of economic processes, the introduction of innovative technologies, and the exchange of expertise. The importance of strengthening contacts in the academic, educational, and cultural spheres was emphasized, establishing a solid foundation for mutual understanding among the younger generation of CIS countries.

Hosting a forum of such high caliber holds special significance for the academic community of Turkmenistan, including the faculty and students of the International University for the Humanities and Development. The materials and decisions adopted during the meeting serve as a practical foundation for research work in international economic relations, diplomacy, and international law.

The documents and agreements adopted following the 111th meeting of the CIS Economic Council are intended to give fresh impetus to the sustainable socio-economic development of the region and the deepening of partnership ties across the Commonwealth.
