Active and diligent members were awarded at 8th Congress of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan

On January 28, 2023, the regular 8th Congress of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan was held in "Mekan" palace in Ashgabat. Delegates from all regions of the country came to participate in the Congress.

Here, the participants of the forum got acquainted with an exhibition. The exhibition tells about the achievements of modern Turkmenistan, the rich historical and cultural heritage of our people. As was mentioned, the state policy on youth is inextricably linked with the work of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, which unites many members.

This organization is the largest organization in the country that protects the interests of young citizens. From the day of its foundation, the youth organization has been carrying out effective work in educating healthy, physically and spiritually-morally developed, hardworking, capable, and loyal generations to the Motherland. For more than 30 years, the organization has been successfully fulfilling the tasks of organizing its members, focusing their skills and knowledge on the continuous development of our Independent and Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan.

During the forum, the participants discussed and unanimously adopted amendments and additions to the Charter of the Youth Organization named after Magtymguly. Amendments and additions to the Charter of this public organization take into account the tasks arising from the Amended version of the Law of Turkmenistan "On State Policy on Youth", as well as the tasks set by the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people for the youth. The participants of the conference unanimously adopted the Resolution on the tasks set before the Youth Organization in the new phase.

Following the agenda, there was held an awarding ceremony for the active and diligent members of the organization, that was held in a solemn atmosphere. On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as from the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, the awardees received valuable gifts.

Among those active and diligent youth, Novruz Nurberdiyev, a 3rd-year student of International Public Law major of the International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD), was awarded with the memorable gifts of our Arkadagly Serdar, and our Hero Arkadag. Novruz Nurberdiyev and his teammates are the winners of several national and international competitions in the field of international law, and their worthy contribution to the entry of our university into the top 100 list of the best higher educational institutions in the field of international law worldwide clearly testifies to the preparation of skilled international experts necessary for the development of our country.

More specifically, the team of IUHD, which was represented by Law major students of our university Zohre Geldyyeva, Dovlet Gurbanov and Novruz Nurberdiyev, took the 1st place in the 23rd edition of the International Moot Court Competitions on International Humanitarian Law named after F.F.Martens, which was held between the 3-7 October, 2022, in Moscow. This remarkable victory of Turkmen students in this international competition that has been held since 1997 is the first not only at the national level, but also in the history of the Central Asian states. During the competition, Turkmen youth demonstrated the fruits of high-quality education provided in Turkmenistan, their acquired knowledge of international humanitarian law in practice, and received high praise from the organizers and juries.

In addition, Novruz is the winner of the Young Ambassadors of the Sustainable Development Goals Competition, held by the United Nations Office in Turkmenistan, and takes an active part in a number of events to promote the initiatives of Government of Turkmenistan on 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals.

Concluding the forum, the participants of the 8th Congress adopted an Address to the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan expressing their sincere gratitude for the created opportunities for the youth, creative research, effective solutions and innovative approaches in acquiring knowledge.
