Faculty of International Law and
International Relations of the International University
for the Humanities and Development is an academic division for students looking
to pursue a career in government bodies, international organizations,
international non-governmental organizations, and international firms.
The
faculty encourages an integrated theoretical and interdisciplinary approach to
issues of international regulation and governance, so students can build a deep
understanding of how one discipline informs the other. Majors offered by the
faculty cover the general methods, scope and theories of international law and
international relations and allows for further specialization within these
broad fields.
There
are three departments at the faculty:

Department of Languages.
The
faculty conducts courses in 3 undergraduate programs. About 300 students study
full-time in programs delivered by the faculty.

International Law and International Relations Faculty is a team of young, ambitious and well-qualified scholars, teachers and researchers with strong educational background, ready to share their knowledge, experiences, and support students.
The faculty has members with extensive knowledge in the relevant fields. Most of them received their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees
from the United States of America, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland, Republic of Turkey, Republic of Belarus, the People’s
Republic of China, the Russian Federation, and etc.
Teachers
regularly take professional training courses in national and international
training centers, and participate in national and international conferences,
symposiums, seminars, and workshops.
The Department of International Law is
one of the three departments at the Faculty of International Law and
International Relations and is a young team of scholars engaged in both
educational and research activities in two major areas of law – international
public and international private law. Department staff are involved in the
implementation of undergraduate educational programs at the faculty, as well as
in other structural units of the university, thereby ensuring inter-faculty
interaction in the implementation of university educational activities.

The department encourages its students
to actively engage in extracurricular activities and supports the activities of
– the “Lawyers’ Club” – a student run law student’s club. Our students, members
of the aforementioned club, actively participate in moot court competitions at
both national and international levels, such as: the Jean-Pictet Moot Court
Competition on International Humanitarian law, the Martens Moot Court
Competition on International Humanitarian Law, Youth for Peace competition on international
law, the Asia Cup Moot, local moot court
competitions on commercial arbitration, etc. Besides our students take active
participations in various scientific competitions both at the national and
international levels. The department organizes for its students meetings with
the representatives of law enforcement agencies and other government bodies on
a regular basis. Faculty members and students publish their research regularly
in top journals of the country.
The department supervises “Lawyers’
Club”. Together with the club, it annually holds:

staff of the International Law Department regularly improve their
qualifications, participate in national and international conferences, and
submit applications for competitions of scientific projects, organize various
events, publish in scientific journals, and actively cooperate with other
departments.
The
teaching staff of the department successfully combines teaching activities with
creative and scientific work in the field of international law. The results of
this work are reflected in the publication of textbooks and teaching aids,
publication of articles in local and international publications, participation
in scientific symposia and conferences.
International Relations Department is
successfully functioning within the Faculty of International Law and
International Relations at International University for the Humanities and
Development. Instructors of the department providing excellent theoretical and
practical knowledge for the students in international relations, foreign
policy, diplomacy and world politics. Lectures, seminars and other academic
activities are conducted in order to develop a new generation of leaders who
combine traditional and modern knowledge of international relations with
specific and profound understanding of both the domestic and the foreign policy
of Turkmenistan. Graduates from this department are employed at state
ministries, agencies, higher educational institutions as well as at private
companies of Turkmenistan.

The Department of Languages (LD) was
created in 2014 as a separate structure of the Faculty of International Law and
International Relations. The purpose of the training is professionally-oriented
teaching of foreign languages to future professionals, the formation of the
fundamentals of foreign language competence necessary for professional
intercultural communication, mastering, first of all, written forms of
communication in a foreign language as the means of information activity and
further self-education. Experienced instructors of the department help to
achieve a level of fluency in languages, which allows graduates to effectively
build a professional career and increases their competitiveness in the labor
market. Currently, the department carries out educational, methodological and
research work in the areas of training and academic disciplines.
