Lecturers from the International University for the Humanities and Development, Chemen Vekilova and Oguljahan Gurbanova, participated in the British Council Partnership Summit held in Tashkent from March 4 to March 8. The event was organized within the framework of the AELLCA project (Advancing English Language Learning in Central Asia) — an educational initiative aimed at improving the quality of English language teaching across Central Asian countries.
Turkmenistan was represented at the forum by staff members from two of the country’s leading higher education institutions — the International University for the Humanities and Development and the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.
The summit agenda included discussions on modern English language teaching methodologies, professional development tools for educators, and mechanisms for strengthening inter-university cooperation. Participants held seminars and experience-sharing sessions, which led to discussions about launching joint language projects.
As part of the summit, representatives of the International University for the Humanities and Development delivered a joint presentation together with partners from Westminster International University in Tashkent. The presentation featured Vice-Rector Andrew Lynn and Professor Anastasia Bezborodova. The speakers discussed collaborative actions and results achieved within the AELLCA project and explored prospects for further academic cooperation.
The participation of the Turkmen side in an event of this level opened opportunities for introducing innovative approaches into the national education system in line with international standards. Experts noted that the momentum generated by the summit would contribute to the further development of the professional community of educators and strengthen the integration of regional educational systems.
