Resulberdi Allovov and Aydogdy Agabayev, students from the International University for the Humanities and Development (IUHD), have recently completed the International Student Exchange Program of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (ISEPTUFS). The program, which took place during the 2023-2024 academic year, provided them with an enriching academic and cultural experience in Japan.
The ISEPTUFS program is designed to offer international students the opportunity to study in Japan, enhance their proficiency in the Japanese language, and gain a deeper understanding of the international community and Japan’s role within it. Each year, the program welcomes over 200 students from around the world, who spend either a semester or a full year at TUFS, engaging in rigorous academic courses and cross-cultural exchange.
During their time at TUFS, Resulberdi and Aydogdy enrolled in a variety of courses, including Advanced Japanese, Japanese writing, Japanese Culture and Literature, Introduction to Historical Sciences, and International Law. Their participation in these classes not only bolstered their academic knowledge but also allowed them to engage closely with both Japanese and international peers, fostering a rich environment of cultural exchange and communication.
Reflecting on his experience, Resulberdi Allovov stated, “Participating in the ISEPTUFS program at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies greatly enriched my understanding of Japan’s culture and language. The program’s focus on cross-cultural interaction, with both Japanese and international students, enhanced my communication skills and global perspective. I am hopeful that the cooperation between IUHD and TUFS will continue to expand, offering future students a broad range of opportunities.”
In addition to their academic pursuits, the students took part in several significant cultural and diplomatic events. These included the official meeting dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan, a joint meeting with Turkmen students in Japan during the official visit of the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan in February 2024, and a cultural event featuring Turkmen artists in June 2024.
As they return to IUHD, Resulberdi Allovov will enter his third year in the bachelor’s degree program in International Relations and World Politics, while Aydogdy Agabayev will commence his final year of study, majoring in Programming for Computer Systems. The experiences and knowledge they gained through the ISEPTUFS program will undoubtedly enrich their academic journeys and future careers.
Their successful completion of the ISEPTUFS program marks a significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between IUHD and TUFS, underscoring the value of international academic exchanges in fostering global understanding and cooperation.
