OMOUS 2023 – Awarding and closing ceremony

On April 28, 2023, the results of the III Open Mathematical Olympiad for University Students (OMOUS - 2023) that was held in an international level, were summed up at the International University for the Humanities and Development.

At the closing ceremony of the Olympiad, speeches were made by team leaders of universities, jury members and student participants. The speakers mentioned about the well organization of the Mathematical Olympiad and thanked the organizers and particularly volunteers for their tireless efforts in assisting during the OMOUS 2023.

283 students from 9 countries - Turkmenistan, Germany, Hungary, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Iran, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan took part in the Olympiad in which 55 participants were students from foreign countries.

In the individual standings of the III Open Mathematical Olympiad, students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan won 20 gold, 37 silver and 63 bronze medals. At the team competitions, students of Turkmenistan won 2 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze medals.

Students from the Russian Federation won 4 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals in the individual competition. In the group stage they won 1 gold and 2 silver medals.

Students from Uzbekistan won 5 silver and 10 bronze medals in the individual competition and 3 bronze medals in the team competition.

Azerbaijani students won 2 silver medals in individual competition and 1 bronze medal in team competition.

In addition, 1 student from Mexico won a gold medal.

A student from Germany also won a silver medal, and a student from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia won a bronze medal.

The team, made up of students from Mexico, Hungary, Germany and Saudi Arabia, won the silver medal in the team competition.

IUHD students won 23 medals in individual competition in which, 7 gold, 6 silver, and 10 bronze medals. In team competition our university gained 1 gold and 1 silver medals.

The number of medals won by participating countries in the Olympiad:

- Turkmenistan - 138 medals;

- Uzbekistan - 18 medals;

- Russia - 12 medals;

- Azerbaijan - 3 medals;

- Hungary - 1 medal;

- Germany - 1 medal;

- Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - 1 medal;

- United States of Mexico - 1 medal.

In a solemn atmosphere, the winners of the OMOUS 2023 were awarded with medals, diplomas and bouquets of flowers. The ceremony was followed with festive concert prepared by the students of IUHD.

At the end of the ceremony, the winners of the Olympiad, participants, jury members and organizers took a group photo.
